Edmonton Streets

I’m in Edmonton, I think that is clear. I’m in Edmonton while it is suffering a freak snow storm. Which I can handle, I do after all live in Fort St John, what amazes me is the craziness of the streets with snow.

There are  two contributing factors to this statement. One is the fact that Edmonton roads and city planning is wack. There isn’t much sense there. You miss a turn, bam, you ended up on the other side of the river and can’t figure out how to get back to where you came from. Very frustrating, but livable… The second is the weather. Edmonton gets some wacked weather. Fort example this evening it was snowing like crazy and was only -2 which was making the snow wet and heavy.

So combining a confusing road system and heavy wet snow gets you a big mess. No traffic lanes, no common sense. By no fault of the City road crews if we hadn’t of been in a truck we would have gotten stick quickly on some of the side streets.

Selling and Sold

Today was a morning of buying and an afternoon of sales.

Ikea was the morning where we spent our share and walked out with a Table, desks and bee hive lamps, I’ll explain later.

In the afternoon we demoed a printer.. with a sales man of all sales man. But I should hold my tounge, because the guys was nice and I believe honest.

Whyte Ave was the chosen dinner place at a great little place where I got my hands on a delicious burger and french onion soup.

I moved

from my normal location to Edmonton for the weekend.

I suppose I am suppose to dazzle you will a blog post today, informing you of how amazing my life is. Well that is not the case, I’m average today.

Andrew, Mike and I decided to come to Edmonton… Then Jerid, who also works for the company, decided to come, so Mike decided to stay home. So on the drive Andrew and I talk about life, business and possibilities while Jerid read his book.

Finally we arrived in Edmonton to the Delta South Hotel, which for only $120 a night is fancy by my standards. Tomorrow is Ikea, and Apple store in morning and then Coffee Shop working in the afternoon.

It is a nice get away and I alway enjoy the drive as the conversation, which some what serious, always excites me about the possibilities and the future. But alas…. things change….

So from Edmonton, good night.

REVIEW: Pizza by the Slice in Fort St John

Not many of the “northern” towns I have lived in, Yellowknife and Fort St John, have Pizza Shops that sell pizza by the slice. It seems like such a simple lunch meal, but not many offer. Yellowknife did have a few joints that sold pizza slices, but in all honesty it was overly greasy and I didn’t think any place in Fort St John did.

I think Fort St John has 5 different establishments that make pizza, Boston Pizza, Domino’s, Panago, Remedies Lounge and Olio’s.  For the last couple months I thought that only made whole pizzas, until I started questioning today on Twitter.

Olio’s is a locally owned small Pizza Shop which does mainly delivering and pickup. The pizza is like no other I have ever had. It is authentic pizza with real ingredients. I have become addicted to them over the last couple months, ordering every couple weeks.

When I asked on Twitter today, many other local users suggested I stop by Olio’s and check. Sure enough when I made my way at lunch they did and for an amazing lunch special.

Olio's Pizza

For only $5.00 you can get a large slice of pizza and a can of pop, no tax. This is my kind of lunch. Two reasons, it is cheaper than my normal lunch and it is portion control.

So if you find yourself in Fort St John, I suggest you try Olio’s Pizza for lunch or anytime.
