Journey Through My Memories

Something I have been wanting to do for the last couple months is start to recall memories. I know that sounds like a weird thing to do, but I have so many memories of my childhood, that I fear I will forget them.

I’m not talking about just writing little snippets of where I was and what I did. I intend to describe in detail the memories I have as best as I can.

I don’t know why I worry that I am going to lose these memories, but it just seems like I did so much, so many different things, that I don’t want to forget where I am coming from.

At a young age I traveled to a lodge on the Arctic Coast, I learned to drive at an hunting camp in the middle of the Canadian Arctic, work for 3 summers at a Old Gold Mine turned exploration camp, assisted in guiding both Caribou and Musk-ox hunts, got to walk with a thousand caribous, cruise around in a helicopter, travel to mexico twice and go on a cruise.

I have done an abundance of things at only 20 years old. I hope you’ll come along the journey of my memory.

I’m going camping

Well it is that time of year that I think is just right for going camping.

No I’m only kidding, but I did need to go and pick up my camper from my friends place and bring it back to town.

I was a little nervous to do it, as from memory, I thought the camper was pretty heavy would wouldn’t tow well with the Jeep. Turns out I was wrong. The camper is not near as heavy as I thought, and the Jeep pulling really well.

I had no problem pulling the camper 100km this afternoon.

What do ya think?

Place in my head

The last day or two, I haven’t been able to focus properly at work. Not that I’m not enjoying it. I actually really am, but I think the lack of hydration mixed with the back I never seen the sun is getting to me and giving me headaches.

Today at 3pm I couldn’t handle it anymore and needed to get out. So I picked my tiny laptop and headed to Patch Java. For some reason Coffee Shop sooth me. I enjoy the atmosphere and the hustle.

Luckily, a lot of my work can be done form anywhere. Even if I need to chat with a co-worker, we use Google Talk (I use iChat) to communicate when someone isn’t in the office.

So here I sit in the coffee shop writing up some outline information on an upcoming Social Media Workshop we will be putting on.

Cheers.

Scheduled Life

I’m a routinist, yes I just made up a word. A routinist is someone who always follows a schedule or routine.

Everyday I get up at the same time, have a shower, get dressed and then pop two pieces of bread in the toaster. After standing in the kitchen aimlessly for 2 minutes the toaster pops and I smother the toast with peanut butter and raspberry jam.

I then go off to work and show up at the same time everyday, which is about an hour before I really have too. I eat lunch at the same time everyday. Then of course I come how cook a meal and plop myself in front of the TV for the evening entertainment. Finally at about 9:30pm I head off to bed where I’ll read for about an hour.

Done. That is my routine. No it doesn’t sound all that different from most people, but at the age of 20, I have a routine of an old man, or something.
schedule
Sure everyone once and a while I’ll go crazy with the routine. I’ll change from toast to yogurt, or eat out instead of in, but I quickly go back to my, safe, routine.

The reason I bring this up is because I have never really known anything else. I have always gone to sleep relatively early and then gotten up and gone to work earlier than most. You can say that attitude is in my blood or I just acquired it throughout highschool. So what is so weird is seeing others routines. Both my roommate and boss have bizarre routine, if any. My roommate, who is the boss mans younger brother, and I all work at the same place, we do different things, and we have different schedules. Like last night for example. All three of us were at the office at about the same time all day yesterday, and at 5pm we all left and when home. I came home and cooked supper and what not, but roommate and boss went home and slept for a couple hours, I can’t do this, then just as I’m about to go to sleep, roommate gets up and goes back into work.

I understand that we all work differently, and this post is merely an observation. What I find interesting is, that according to Facebook and emails, they would have left the office again at around 4am. Which makes it only an hour before I got up, I don’t here anything while sleeping so I can’t be certain.

I wonder when I will see either of them today? Noon? The funny thing is I feel like the dull one, by doing the same thing every single day.

Am I?

Big Bed Build Bonanza

It has been 4 weeks since I moved down to Fort St John and all this time I have been sleeping on an Air Mattress. I’m not complaining, actually I can sleep on almost anything and it still be comfortable. That being said I thought it was time to get a real bed. That didn’t last long since I wanted something smaller and compact for my room.

I ended up getting a neat little sofabed from Jysk. It fold in a couple ways.
