That one time we tried Geocaching

I don’t even think what we were doing was real Geocaching but it was amusing.

Spring: Out with the old, in with the new

It is spring and sometimes you have to get rid of the old to make way for the new.

Someone get a new truck. I just took the photos.

Spring has not sprung

Well I guess spring has sprung. As I drove home this evening it started to snow.
This is disappointing because I really wanted to get my bike. But I think it will be warm enough tomorrow that will be melted.
Such a buzz kill really, after such a nice day today I really didn’t want to see the snow.

Has Spring Finally Sprung?

As I do most weekdays I am sitting in front of the big window in the living room of the house I live in, staring out of it. The sun doesn’t actually shine in, in the morning as it is rises on the other side of the house, but I can still see it strong morning reflection on the houses across the street.

When I arrived back to Fort St John after my short trip to Yellowknife the weather was miserable. There were one or two days when I first got back that were pleasant, but then things turned. It started to snow, and snow a lot. Fort St John ended up break snow fall records for certain days.

The worst part was that things were still reletvely wet. So the snow would come down and then slow melt. Which make streets a mess, our gravel/dirt driveway a mud puddle, but also made for slick road condition.

There were several delays on the Alaska Highway around town with vehicles that had gone into the ditch and what not. One case even of a bulldozer tipping off its flatbed trailer north of Fort St John. Having had to travel back from Fort Nelson last Thursday while it was white out conditions, I now know why there are so many collisions.

That might all be over now though and spring might just stick around. As I mentioned it is currently blue skies with the sun gleaming down. Most of the roads are even dry now. I could possible get one of my bikes out and ride it to work.

Before we rejoice to much though, we must brace ourselves for the week of rain the forecast is calling for starting Sunday, April 24. Although it means getting wet, it will be a good thing to get rid of any snow left and to also get rid of any dirt and dust that might have accumulated.

In all I think it is going to be a good week.

An Update and Things to do.

Well it is Monday and I go back to work tonight but I need to get somethings done before hand.

  • Figure out what classes I’m going to take at school.
  • Call school register for those classes.
  • Go to NNSL get my %50 off web subscription.
  • Write a YkClassifieds review on YkOnline.
  • Write up a CanLiving post on my Bike.
  • Continue work on the layout of YkOnline.
  • Update clients sites The Rock and SideDoor.
  • Measure and cut foam for seats in my camper.
  • I’m sure I have forgotten something

Over the weekend the Trade Show was on and I was there taking some pictures and meeting new people. It was a really good time and it was good to see so many people coming out. I wrote about it on YkOnline.ca as well as posted some of my pictures.

On Sunday after the trade show, Mothers day lunch, and when the sun finally come back I went out to the Camp Ground and got some spring photos. You can find them all [HERE] and some below.
