Next Weekend

I keep sending article to Instapaper with the intentions of reading them later. That is after all the idea of the website. I keep thinking, well next weekend I will sit down and read them.

I send a lot of blog post ideas there, so I can come back to them. I have this idea that I will be in the mind from when I am done what ever it is I am doing. You know, next weekend when I don’t have this to deal with.

Well that so called weekend never seems to come. I suppose this may be a good thing, I’m always busy and never bored, but a lot of these things I am putting aside are ideas that I really want to explore and see them go further.

I guess one mans brain can only go so far before it hits it capacity.

I’m hoping while I’m back up in Yellowknife for a couple weeks before Christmas I will be able to get some of these ideas laid out. Until then I will continue to store them in my virtual memory. 😉

Slow Week Changes to Dokie

THis past week has been slow at work. I have been working on preparing a Full Day Social Media Workshop. I have to admit this has added a little pressure on me. I will be, for the first time, going to have to prove myself to the folks of Fort St John. Everyone has faith in me, but I am always going to lack a little confidence, and will always be a little nervous.

I have given a couple other presentation, but this time it is slightly different. Instead of doing just one, I will be doing a couple in one day. So I have been working on creating these 40 minute presentations.

I have found it a challenge to get my thoughts and knowledge in order to present them. What I am realizing is that as I work on one presentation I think of something that needs to go in another. Of course then I get distracted with the other one, and it become a circle.

Now the presentations are almost done and I will finalize them this weekend. But tomorrow is going to be a change of pace. Actually it is going to be the opposite from what I have been doing. I will be heading out to the Dokie Wind Project with Andrew to take some photos and video. Should be a lot of fun, especially if I end up a tower.

It Happens While Blogging

This always seems to happen. I start writing in one place for a while, get excited about it and then I go somewhere else to write.

I was doing really well on this site, my own blog, but then for some reason I started having other ideas for YkOnline.ca and WithMedia.ca, which then means I then neglect this one.

It seems that I can not keep up with all three while working. I suppose this is my own issue, but I often wonder if I spread myself to thin with different sites.

I question this about myself, but then have another so called “brilliant” idea for a site.

I’m definitely a content creator, so how do I organize this properly.

RSS and My About Me Page

This is definitely a self-promoting plug. It has been at least couple years since I updated the About Me page. Actually I don’t think I have updated it since my this blog was launched. Anyways go check it out and expect it to change again, more frequently.

The second thing I want to mention is about subscribing. I know, another plug. I have never cared who or how many people have read this little space of mine on the Internet, but it seems things are picking up. The Network is growing and so I thought it would be worth mentioning that you can get my ramblings delivered to you.

Hopefully you didn’t just lower your standards of me.

Dream Roadtrip

Man, I am itching to plan and go on what I am going to call a Social Media Road Trip. Basicly I would love to go on a roadtrip in my Jeep, powered by the direction of those on Social Media Networks. All the while blogging about everything I see, do, eat and feel. Be a tourist with a website. Be like a traveling billboard for the great things Canada has to offer.

roadtrip.jpg

Sure it has been done before, but it is something that I’m very passionate about and have the “drive” to do.

It will be something that will take a lot of work, planning and quite possibly begging. I don’t think it can happen for at least a year, but someday. The biggest detail I’ll need to work out is how to financially support myself on this journey. One big sponsor, Advertisers, but how to line these type of things up.

I have always had the bug for roadtrips and always had the desire to travel across Canada but never thought about the logistics. The desire really started to come when interviewed Dave Conroy while he was in Yellowknife and then when I started following Alex and Luke and finally just now when I found Roadtrip with a Reason.

I guess I have some planning to do.
