On my way to Jasper, Alberta

If you have been following me for over a year, you’d know that Jasper, Alberta is one of my favourite places. I love the Canadian Rockies, the animals and of course the tourism industry that comes along with it.

Last September I went through Jasper by my self on my mini get away. Then in December I was introduced to Jasper in the winter, which I must admit was pretty cool, although I’m not much for Skiing or Snowboarding.

Anyways, tomorrow I will be getting into Jasper once again and this time I am very excited because this trip was planned specifically for Jasper. I hope to do lots of hiking, biking, touring the town and heading up the tram for old times sake.

I’m not sure how much I will be able to blog about it while actually there, but check back and check photos.kylewith.com.

Facebook is NOT blocking Google Plus?

Came across this video this morning. Apparently it shows that Facebook is blocking the Google Plus Invite link. While I wouldn’t be surprised, I am still a little skeptical as to if they are really doing that.

For example what would happen if the friend went to the guys actually profile who shared the link. I want to see if it is there or not, not just on the wall.

Thoughts?

SCRATCH THAT

So I just did the test myself and found that it is showing the link fine:

The Most Random Monday Ever

What can I say, apparently I have a spontaneous side and like running around the streets of Fort St John with friends. When word went out on twitter at 7pm that I was looking for an Adventure, it was on.

Twandom Adventure 10

Our meeting place was Dairy Queen – where I might add you can enjoy all sorts of delicious treats. So I dash to my off to get my camera, by the way just putting on running shoes, does not instantly make you an athlete. I learned this the hard way.

After meeting at DQ – and enjoying treat – we proceeded to wonder the streets of Fort St John and see what we could find. I find this one of the best ways to explore the city we live in. As we went I proceeded to document on my camera.

I was using my 50mm lens which is fairly good in low light areas, but I think it eventually got too dark. Nonetheless some photos came out rather interesting. Have a look:

Pestorific Sandwich

There are times when even a not-so-good camera photo should be used to capture food. Like this evening; I’m having a chicken, pesto, mozzarella grilled sandwich that shouldn’t be forgotten.

It was perfect.

Geek out on Kitchen Tools

A Plumber has a Pipe Wrench, an Electrician has Wire Clippers, a Mechanic has a Wrench, an IT Guy has a Keyboard and a Cook has a Spatula.

Well I’m not claiming I’m the Ultimate Chef, but I sure do like to pretend I am. I’m most likely not even a very good cook, but again, I sure enjoy it. It is a learning thing, like anything else. It is something different than working on a computer all day and it helps me clear my head, while keeping my mind busy (although I do end up on the computer writing about it).

So I suppose the word is getting out that cooking is one of my favourite pass times, because look at the goodies I got for my Birthday. I got a new mixing bowl, measuring cups and device, cutting board, whisk, spatula and folding measuring bowl. I want to thank Lori and Ericka for these gifts (You too can send me stuff).

You will see these tools – I’m calling them tools because I’m a man ho ho ho – in future posts as my cooking adventure continues. One of these days I may even let myself cook for other people, heck I may even host a dinner party, I’m just that domesticated.

Cooking Tools

Now for a blast from the past. This is the first cooking video I ever made (I only ever made two).
